Community engagement

After working many years in hospitality, I know how to create experiences that ensure repeat patronage. Leveraging a blend of empathy and strategic communication, I excel at crafting bespoke online communities and inclusive programs from the ground up. Some highlights:

Elsewhere Brooklyn

In the span of two years at music venue Elsewhere, I grew the club’s Discord community from 175 to 4,000+ members. Elsewhere is the only music venue in New York City to build a successful community program of this size on Discord—the platform became a core marketing channel for events, particularly effective in boosting ticket sales for new and emerging artists. On Discord, I facilitated regular artist AMAs that allowed fans to intimately connect with their favorite acts and discover new ones, which amplified community involvement by 39% and increased user retention by 24%.

Refraction Festival

As the community manager for the web3 art collective Refraction, I directed daily community engagement on Discord for 2000+ members. To start, I developed a comprehensive onboarding program that significantly reduced churn rates by 42% and heightened member satisfaction by 13%.

In addition, I implemented a new health & wellness strategy with the goal of improving audience engagement. I recognized that this audience overwhelmingly spent long hours online, so I used this insight to create a program that would give people moments to ground and reset during their workday. The initiative included launching a daily guided meditation, a daily gratitude shareout, and artist-led “coffee chats”—which elevated morale and productivity within the community by 22%.
